Cost of Attendance

 

The cost of attendance is a comprehensive budget comprised of both direct and indirect costs. Direct Costs include tuition and standard fees/charges, residence hall costs, and meal plan costs. Indirect Costs include estimates for books and necessary supplies, transportation around campus and trips home, and miscellaneous personal expenses. The Ohio University Board of Trustees determines the direct costs (tuition and fees, out–of–state surcharge, and room and board rates on campus). Indirect costs (books and supplies, travel, and personal and miscellaneous) are estimated by the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships to arrive at a reasonable projection of the total cost for the academic year. Estimates are based on the Consumer Price Index and surveys. Final annual cost of attendance figures are available from our office after July 1 of each award year.

 

The OHIO Guarantee TM

 

Ohio University is proud to introduce the OHIO Guarantee. The OHIO Guarantee is a cohort based, level-rate tuition, housing, dining, and fee modes that assures students and families a set of comprehensive rates for pursuit of an undergraduate degree at Ohio University. Tuition, housing, dining, and fee rates established at enrollment remain unchanged for 12 consecutive semesters. The purpose of this fee model is to offer students and families predictability, transparency, and stability of tuition and other related expenses at Ohio University’s Athens Campus. The following are the rates established for the cohort of students beginning first-time enrollment at Ohio University in the fall semester 2015-16:

Room and Board costs are based on a Standard Double Room* and a 14 Meal Plan - Flex*.  Detailed room and board options can be found at the Residential Housing website.

Actual student budgets will include averaged loan fees ranging from $68 to $114 annually. Information listed above is for traditional Athens campus programs.  It does not reflect the cost of attendance for any online degree programs offered through eLearning OHIO.
