Ohio College Opportunity Grant (OCOG)
The Ohio College Opportunity Grant (OCOG) is a state-funded grant programs available to residents of the state of Ohio only. The OCOG Program replaces the Ohio Instructional Grant Program for all students as of the 2009-2010 year. You must complete the FAFSA by October 1 of the award year in order to ensure consideration. You will receive a notice from the Ohio Board of Regents as to your eligibility.
The OCOG is awarded based on total family income and the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) from the FAFSA. The family's total income has to be equal to or less than $75,000, and the EFC has to be equal to or less than 2200. For those who qualify, the OCOG is available for full-time and part-time enrollment.
Please note: The Ohio Board of Regents has not yet determined funding for the Ohio College Opportunity Grant (OCOG) for the 2011-12 academic year. It is possible that the OCOG program will not be funded for the 2011-12 year. A final decision regarding the continuation of the OCOG program is not expected until this summer. Ohio University will not provide estimated OCOG awards for any student for the 2011-12 year. Should the program be continued and funding is available, Ohio University will send revised award information to eligible students.
