Why is Ohio University changing card providers?
In March 2008, OHIO's card provider, GE Corporate Payment Services (GECPS), was acquired by American Express. OHIO is obligated to continue the contract to term.
When will I get my new PCard?
In the third week of March, the PCard team distributed the new American Express cards to the Budget Unit Managers of each area. The Budget Unit Managers have distributed the cards to cardholders. If you have not yet received your card, you may pick it up at the Business Service Center, 168 HDL Center.
Will the Controlled Value Card still be available?
Yes, there will be an American Express controlled value card.
Will the travel only version still exist?
Yes, you will be able to get a travel only American Express PCard or CV Card.
How do I buy something if my supplier does not accept American Express as payment?
You may submit a requisition (www.ohio.edu/finance/forms/upload/req.xls) or a Direct Payment (www.ohio.edu/finance/forms/upload/Direct-Payment-2.xls) to Finance to request a Purchase Order or you may pay for the item out of pocket and seek reimbursement.
How do I get my supplier to accept American Express as payment?
You may fill out the supplier acceptance form (www.ohio.edu/finance/forms/upload/supplier_nonaccept.pdf), which will be forwarded to American Express. American Express has a team dedicated to signing up the suppliers of former GECPS clients.
How are the account numbers changing?
All American Express Account Numbers will now be 15 digits as opposed the previous 16 digits as it was with MasterCard.
What kind of changes can we expect on our statements?
There will be very minimal changes to your statements. The GE logo will be replaced with the American Express logo. The next time your account cycles, you will receive your statement, and it will contain transactions made with your MasterCard, as well as transactions made with your American Express account number.
Will my expiration date be the same as my MasterCard?
American Express Cardmembers will see a change to their expiration dates from 3 years to 4 years at time of reissue. Accounts with a current expiration date less than 24 months from the time of conversion will be assigned a new expiration date. However, accounts greater than 24 months out will retain the current expiration date.
