Budget Planning Council - Charge
Co-chaired by the Provost and VP for Finance and Administration, the Budget Planning Council recognizes the established governance mechanisms of the University. The University’s budget process is guided by the priorities established in the academic plan, Vision OHIO. The Budget Planning Council acts in an advisory capacity to the President regarding current and multi-year budget issues, long-term financial policies and funding priorities. The Council members are charged with serving as a representative of the entire campus community as they conduct Council business as well as communicating to and providing feedback from their various constituent groups on budget policy and financial planning issues which impact the long-term health of the institution. The co-chairs will communicate Council recommendations to the President. Duties and responsibilities of the Budget Planning Council include: - Ensure financial policies and budgetary guidelines are consistent with and promote the priorities of the institutional academic plan;
- Advise the President on the allocation of University resources and incremental funding requests;
- Review and recommend approval for tuition, fee, and internal rate requests;
- Recommend the annual General Fund and Auxiliary budgets to the President;
- Monitor and review progress towards movement to a new University budget model
The fifteen member Budget Planning Council represents various constituency groups across campus.
