Presidential Appointment Hiring Information
The Office for Institutional Equity monitors Ohio University's faculty and administrative hiring process, offers information and advice during all stages of searches, and reviews hiring and promotion decisions. For questions about compliance contact Dianne Bouvier at 593-9141.
Hiring processes (for benefits-eligible faculty, administrator, and classified staff positions) will be conducted electronically. After going through training, Hiring Managers (the person coordinating the search) will be authorized to begin Requisitions by going to www.ohiouniversityjobs.com/hr. Applicants will also be creating on-line applications at www.ohiouniversityjobs.com. The general process and protocol is designed to assure compliance with institutional policy and sound affirmative action practice, but without the paper.
The President's Ohio University Faculty/Staff Diversity Initiative provides guidelines for achieving greater diversity amongst faculty and staff at Ohio University. UHR or OIE Staff members are available to attend search committee meetings to discuss the hiring process, as well as help generate methods for enhancing the diversity of the applicant pool. Hiring departments are also encouraged to consult with Graystone Group Advertising or NAS (National Advertising Services) when placing advertisements for their openings, as a cost-saving measure.
Academic departments have the option to conduct faculty searches using paper applications instead of electronic applications. ALL APPROVALS WITHIN THE HIRING PROCESS ARE STILL COMPLETED ON-LINE. Call UHR at 593-1645 or 593-1226 if you are interested in following this process. When following this "hybrid" process, Affirmative Action recruitment reporting will be done both on-line and paper.
