The Center for Entrepreneurship embraces a transformative mission defined by three major dimensions:
Fostering a culture of entrepreneurship throughout the University. The center works with the University’s academic units to expand and enhance entrepreneurial education offerings through multidisciplinary academic coursework, continuing education programs and applied learning projects—offerings that are available to undergraduate and graduate students across a broad range of disciplines—and through mentoring programs to connect successful entrepreneurs and business executives with University students, faculty, and researchers alike.
Supporting entrepreneurship and business development throughout the region by assisting University research, colleges and centers of excellence in providing a full array of hands-on entrepreneurial support and business services to entrepreneurs and start-up companies. A major focus of the Center’s work is to enhance technology commercialization opportunities that unleash the transformative impact of world-class research by University faculty.
Developing and managing entrepreneurial resource networks of early stage venture capital providers and professional business advisors to support the Center’s educational and business development objectives. The Center serves as a trusted and respected partner through which venture capital and business advisory communities connect with the University.
