The Pre-Engineering Program (PEP) in the Fritz J. and Dolores H. Russ College of Engineering and Technology assists incoming students from disproportionately represented groups to transition from high school to a Russ College engineering or technology degree program. The program stresses the development of good study skills adequate for a successful college career.
A pre-college and first-year support program, PEP is structured to help students begin their first year of study with strong skills in math and science fundamentals. Social activities include pool and pizza parties, movie nights, and visits to the state-of the-art campus recreation center. Upon completion of the four-week summer program, students will have earned credit hours toward a Russ College engineering or technology degree. PEP continues throughout the student’s entire first year with tutoring services, résumé writing, required participation in a student organization, and required study tables.
