Multicultural Outreach
The Russ College of Engineering and Technology offers outreach programs for members of disproportionately represented groups in the engineering field.
The Pre-Engineering Program (PEP) is a five week summer bridge program that assists incoming first year engineering students from disproportionately represented groups in making the transition from high school to a Russ College engineering or technology program. Students who complete the program receive credit hours toward their engineering or technology degree.
Multicultural Engineering Informational Receptions are held around the state of Ohio. These receptions provide opportunities for students to gain a better understanding of the engineering field and learn how to prepare to enter an engineering program at Ohio University. Russ College students and area alumni are often invited to attend these events to share their experiences to the prospective students and their families.
The Multicultural Engineering Alumni Network consists of Russ College Alumni who offer their assistance in several areas to encourage prospective engineering students and their families to attend Ohio University.
The Engineering Outreach Advisory Board provides counsel regarding industry needs and developments.
