John C. Sanford of Cornell University will present “Comprehensive Numerical Simulation as a Tool for Understanding Dynamic Genetic Systems” as part of the Bioinformatics Distinguished Lecture Series at the Fritz J. and Dolores H. Russ College of Engineering and Technology on Tues., April 2, from 1:30-2:30 p.m. in Stocker Center 103.
Sanford will discuss gene mutation, early models of predicting population behavior, and “Mendel's Accountant,” the first numerical simulation program to comprehensively and realistically simulate forward genetic change in dynamic biological populations.
