2013 Russ Prize recipient Rangaswamy Srinivasan will give a Stocker Lecture on Tues., Oct. 29, at 3:30 p.m. in the Baker University Center Ballroom. Srinivasan, was honored with the prize for his contributions to the discovery of pulsed ultraviolet laser surgery, the founding technology behind LASIK and PRK surgeries, along with colleagues James J. Wynne and the late Samuel E. Blum at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center.
He will discuss how he invented the phenomenon of ablative photodecomposition, and detail the bio-engineering discovery that led to groundbreaking surgical procedures that have improved life for more than 25 million people.
