Join 2013 Russ Prize recipient James J. Wynne on Thurs., Feb. 20, at 3:15 p.m. in Baker University Center Theatre to hear about his role in the development of laser ablative photodecomposition, the technology behind LASIK and PRK vision correction surgeries.
Honored with the Russ Prize in February 2013 along with former fellow IBM researcher Rangaswamy Srinivasan and the late Samuel J. Blum, Wynne’s research applied the technology to experiments on human tissue. The later development of LASIK and PRK has helped more than 25 million people worldwide see a brighter future through improved vision.
Wynne will also appear on court during the Russ College-sponsored OHIO men’s basketball game against Western Michigan University on Wed., Feb. 19, at 7 p.m. in the Convocation Center.
