The Biological Track in chemical engineering requires you to complete:
- All specific courses currently required for the chemical engineering degree,
- CHE 4800, Biochemical Engineering, and CHE 4830, Applied Molecular and Cellular Biology. All Chemical Engineering majors are required to take one of these two courses. Both would be required to complete the track.
- Three technical elective courses of at least three hours each, from the approved list for that track
- Technical electives for biological track (PDF – Courses in the Biological track are marked with an "B")
Because both CHE 4800 and CHE 4830 are required for this track, the technical elective requirement is lowered from 21 hours to 18 hours, and the number of technical elective hours that must be chemical engineering courses is reduced from six to three.
