Russ College honors BME faculty member

Biomedical engineering program faculty member Cindy Marling was named the winner of the Russ Outstanding Research Paper Award. Marling, associate professor of electrical engineering and computer science, received the award at the 2010 Russ College of Engineering and Technology awards banquet.

Marling was honored for her work on "Toward Case-Based Reasoning for Diabetes Management:  A Preliminary Clinical Study and Decision Support System Prototype," in which she collaborated with fellow BME faculty member Frank Schwartz and Jay Shubrook, both of the College of Osteopathic Medicine. Their work blends Marling's expertise in artificial intelligence with Schwartz's and Shubrook's clinical expertise in endocrinology.
