Graduate Application Decision Process
- The Ohio University Office of Graduate Studies evaluates the application’s supporting documents. This step can take up to four weeks.
- The biomedical engineering program decides on admission. Decisions are made as applications are received by the program. This step can take up to two weeks.
Financial assistance decisions are made separately. For students starting in the fall, financial assistance decisions are typically made the prior March. An offer of financial assistance could come at any other time if a faculty member is awarded a research grant and if an applicant is a fit for the research. The program will keep track of student research interests for these cases. Students will be contacted via e-mail about admission and financial aid decisions.
"Financial assistance" means a stipend (salary) and a tuition scholarship. The tuition scholarship will cover the instructional fees and the nonresident surcharge. We are forbidden to give a tuition scholarship without a stipend. For more information on the estimated cost of attendance, visit the Office of Graduate Studies.
