BME student, lab mate win first place in campus competition

BME program student Liang Chen and mechanical engineering master's student Randolph Robert won a first-place award in the annual Student Research and Creative Activity Expo held May 3 at the Convocation Center.
Chen and Robert, whose lab advisor is BME faculty member JungHun Choi, won in the mechanical engineering division for their work as co-first authors of the poster "Variable Assessment for Design of Monopolar Hot Biopsy Forceps." Choi, an assistant professor of mechanical engineering, and David Drozek, assistant professor of surgery in the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, are co-authors.
The poster was also presented at the Design of Medical Devices Conference held April 10-13 in Minneapolis.
