BME student, faculty member attend medical devices conference

Liang Chen, a first-year student in the biomedical engineering master's program, is a co-first author and co-presenter on a research paper presented at the Design of Medical Devices Conference held April 10-13 in Minneapolis.
Chen's advisor, JungHun Choi, assistant professor of mechanical engineering and a member of the BME program faculty, also attended the conference.
The other co-first author and co-presenter of the paper, "Variable Assessment for Design of Monopolar Hot Biopsy Forceps," is Randolph Robert, a mechanical engineering master's student who also works in Choi's lab. Choi and David Drozek, assistant professor of surgery in the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, are co-authors.
The paper has been accepted for publication by the Journal of Medical Devices.
