Engineering Ambassador Activities 2005-2006
Spring Corporate Trip

The Engineering Ambassadors' spring corporate trip destinations were Eli Lilly and Company in Indianapolis, Indiana; and Portola Packaging in Batavia, Illinois. On May 4, 2006, the Ambassadors visited the pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly's corporate center and its Tippecanoe Laboratories in the afternoon. Ohio University alumnus Billy Allen hosted a morning tour and shared the company's 129-year history. At headquarters, the Ambassadors took a tour of the research and development facilities. The Tippecanoe lab tour highlighted the company’s manufacturing equipment and processes.

The next day, the Ambassadors toured Portola Packaging Company, which designs, manufactures, and markets tamper-evident plastic closures, bottles, and equipment. Ohio University alumni and Portola Packaging CEO, Brian Bauerbach, welcomed the Ambassadors and hosted lunch after the tour. The Ambassadors then enjoyed an overnight stay in downtown Chicago for some fun before making the long drive back home.
