A free, six-week summer residential program, the Summer Transition and Engineering Preview for Undergraduate Preparation (STEP UP) helps incoming first-year engineering students from disproportionately represented groups make the transition from high school to a Russ College program.

You’ll receive six free credit hours toward your degree while you brush up on math and science fundamentals that are crucial to your academic and professional success, develop good study skills, and start fall semester with a high GPA. STEP UP will also help you get to know the different areas of engineering and technology, so you can choose which program of study is right for you.

But it’s not all about academics. Outside of class, there are pool and pizza parties, movie nights, outdoor pursuits, and visits to our state-of the-art campus recreation center—all ways for you to explore campus and form new friendships.

So join us. Develop a support system, gain leadership skills, increase your academic skills, enhance good work habits, see what it’s like to live in a residence hall, and learn about all the ways you can go beyond the classroom with co-ops assignments and internships, student organizations, study abroad, and other opportunities to make the most of your time at OHIO.

STEP-UP has a limited enrollment, so download the application below and submit it as soon as possible. The deadline for the summer 2014 program (June 25-August 15) is June 13. For questions or more info., contact Director of Multicultural Experiences Jody Markley at 740.593.1487.
