Want to see how your math and science skills apply to the real world? Sign up for TEAMS (Tests of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics and Science), a one-day competition for high school students will show you how engineering touches almost every aspect of your life. Each year, the Russ College hosts approximately 150 students from area high schools on the Athens campus for TEAMS competition.

They collaborate with teammates to solve real-world challenges by using math and science in practical and creative ways. Past TEAMS challenges have dealt with air transportation, bridge design and rehabilitation, flood analysis, solar-powered vehicles, and food preservation.

When is this year’s TEAMS competition?

  • Regional: Feb. 21, 2013 (Ohio University’s Athens campus)
  • National: June 18-July 2, 2013, (Orlando, Fla., during the conference of the Technology Students Association)

How do we sign up for TEAMS competition?

Register your team online before Feb. 1, 2013. Cost is $125 per team.
