Eric Steinberg is a professor in Civil Engineering at Ohio University. He served as Assistant Chair from 1997 to 2005 and is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio. He is a member of ACI, ASCE, and PCI. Professor Steinberg is co-chair of the North American Ultra High Performance Concrete Working Group and has served as an expert witness in the field of structural engineering. He is an active member of PCI's Student Education and Bridge Committees. Professor Steinberg has served as the faculty advisor for the student organizations of ASCE and SEAO. He has been the Chief Proctor for the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam.

Research Interests: Professor Steinberg's research interests include bridge engineering, ultra-high performance concrete, prestressed concrete design, structural reliability, and timber engineering. He has published research findings in PCI's Journal, ACI's Structural Journal, ASCE's Journal of Structural Engineering and Journal of Bridge Engineering, and the Journal of Structural Safety. Professor Steinberg has had his research funded by the Ohio Department of Transportation, the Federal Highway Association, the Federal Aviation Administration, the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute, and private industry. Recent research projects include the full scale destructive testing of adjacent prestressed concrete box beam bridges, ultra-high performance concrete bridge connections, and inspection of sign supports.
