Mr. Martin is a research engineer for the Ohio Coal Research Center. From 2004 to 2008, Mr. Martin worked as an undergraduate researcher, chemical hygiene technician, and was hired as the first co-op employee at the Ohio Coal Research Center. Between 2008 and 2012, Mr. Martin worked for two private algal technology companies and started an engineering consulting and contract services company specializing in algal growth and harvesting technologies. Mr. Martin is also co-inventor of a universal apparatus for harvesting microorganisms from natural bodies of water and engineered systems. Mr. Martin is happy to be back in Athens and working with Ohio University faculty, staff, and students on developing and testing new technologies that have a positive impact on the environment and humankind.
