"At Ohio University’s Russ College of Engineering and Technology, Colleen Carow develops and executes marketing communications strategies and tactics, including media relations, collateral, events, recruiting needs, dean’s communications, events, and board meetings.

Previously, she was marketing executive for EDS’ $1 billion communications service line, for which she managed strategy, offering launches, events, direct marketing, Web content, collateral, presentations, executive and internal communications, media relations, and a $1 million+ annual budget.

From 2001-2002, Carow was manager of EDS’ creative services team, which produced collateral for executive/corporate events, trade shows, and employee benefits. Serving as EDS’ daily brand consultant, she also managed EDS’ 2001 and 2002 annual reports; 2002 shareholders meeting, trade show, and corporate marketing center communications; and helped write CEO speeches.

From 2000-2001, Carow led an EDS corporate communications team, providing support for various executive units. Individually, she provided support for CFO, investor relations, and other units.

She joined EDS in April 2000 as marketing centers communicator. She developed messaging, environments, displays and media presentations. Chosen for executive succession planning, Carow was ranked in top 10 percent of employees for her entire EDS tenure.

Prior, she was director of development communications at Ohio University. She developed annual reports, executive communications and winning major gift proposals, including for the university’s then-largest gift of $20 million. Previously, she managed communications for the Southeastern Ohio PBS and National Public Radio affiliates, including producing and anchoring live television and radio.

From 1993 to 1997, she taught grammar, technical writing and composition at Ohio University; wrote museum exhibition copy; and managed a small business.

Carow is a member of IABC (International Association of Business Communicators) and CASE (the Council for the Support and Advancement of Education).

She holds an M.B.A., M.A. in English, and B.S. in Journalism (cum laude), all from Ohio University.

A native of Chicago, she enjoys spending time with her son, as well as singing, writing, and performing music."
