George Wendt, Risk Manager, began his work at Ohio Univeristy in April of 2008. Most of his thirty year career has focused on the purchase of property and casualty insurance as well as claims and litigation management. Having worked in the claims field for major insurance companies, George transitioned into risk management with the U-Haul Corporation and Samaritan Health System. Later, he became Risk Management Director of the City of Scottsdale, Arizona and then Risk Manager for the Arizona Department of Transportation..

George holds a BA Degree in Political Science and a BS Degree in Insurance as well as an MBA and an MA in Theology. His professional credentials include the Associate in Risk Management and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designations. George has held leadership positions with the Risk and Insurance Management Society and is a past President of the Arizona Chapter of the Public Risk Management Association. He has been a conference presenter, an instructor for the Associate in Risk Management program and an adjunct professor at a community college.
