Kazuo Yamada Scholarship
Application deadline: Friday April 20, 2007
Notification of awards: May 11, 2007
Students participating in the Chubu University study abroad program in Japan are eligible to apply for the Kazuo Yamada Scholarship provided jointly by Chubu University and the College of Arts & Sciences, Ohio University. The scholarship is named after the late Chubu University Chancellor Yamada who was instrumental in nurturing the relationship between the two institutions during the last decades of the 20th Century.
Up to 10 scholarships will be awarded, and applications will be evaluated according to financial need and academic performance of applicants. For each scholarship recipient, Chubu University will contribute funding of ¥120,000 (calculated in dollars at the current exchange rate), and Ohio University will contribute $1,000. The sum of both sources of funding will be deducted from the final student billing for the program.
Interested applicants should complete the application below and return it to the Office of Education Abroad, 185 Lindley Hall, by the application deadline date. Although a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is not required, it is helpful if you have a current one on file with the Office of Student Financial Aid & Scholarships. If you do not have a current FAFSA on file, you will have to submit a copy of your parent’s 2006 1040 Tax form if you are claimed by them, or your own if you are a financially independent student.
