Initial Considerations
In what region, country or city would you like to study/work/volunteer?
How long would your ideal program be?
How will you pay for your overseas experience?
What is your foreign language ability?
Academic Considerations
What courses or subject areas would you like to study?
Would you prefer to take classes in English or in the local language?
How important is it to you to receive academic credit?
Personal Considerations
How well do you adjust to new situations (if you’re not sure, think about how you did coming to college)?
Would you prefer studying with other Americans, students of the host country, or a combination of both?
Would you like to live with a host family, with students from the host country, or with other American students?

o Start shopping for programs online at www.ohio.edu/studyabroad.
