API Scholarship Options

Academic Programs International (API)

The affiliate agreement between Ohio University and API means OHIO students are eligible for a variety of financial benefits when participating on API programs

API Affiliate Scholarship:

Ohio University students who plan to study abroad with Academic Programs International (API) may apply for an API Scholarship through the Ohio University Office of Education Abroad.

  • Up to $850 is available (to be applied toward the cost of the program) for full-time enrollment during spring or fall terms.
  • Up to $500 is available for API summer programs. Scholarships are awarded on a combined basis of merit and need, and applicants must have a 3.0 minimum GPA.
  • Scholarships are awarded on a combined basis of merit and need.

Eligibility:
1. Must participate in an API summer, semester, or academic year program. Students may apply for this scholarship if they have submitted their API application but have not yet been accepted.
2. Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

How to apply:
Submit a completed API Scholarship Application form to the Office of Education Abroad. Attach to the completed form a 200 – 300 word essay describing how your study abroad experience will benefit you personally, professionally and academically (grammar and punctuation will be taken into account when considering your application).
