| | | Europe in the World Utrecht, the Netherlands and Århus, Denmark Academic Year
This exchange program is geared towards upper-level journalism students interested in learning about the new and exciting challenges for the media a new Europe. As economic and trade barriers break down, the international dimension in newsgathering has become more important than ever. The Europe in the World program provides students the opportunity to develop a better understanding of the political, economic, and social trends affecting European integration. Student participants live and study in two countries, travel to various European locations and produce an exciting variety of journalistic products. Coursework, seminars, program travel and website production facilitate participant learning through critical analysis, observation and practical work. Upon successful completion of the program, students receive a European Diploma in International Journalism.
Program length Academic year (September - June)
Eligibility and selection process This program is open to any journalism junior or senior in good academic standing.

Living arrangements With assistance from the International Offices in Utrecht and Århus, students will live in apartments with local university students.
Courses and credits Students will spend one semester at the Hogeschool Van Utrecht in Utrecht, The Netherlands, and one semester at the Danish School of Journalism in Århus, Denmark. All courses, publications, and student work are done in English.
Examples of courses include Foreign Policy, European History, Propaganda and Political Communications, and Risk Reporting. A complete list can be obtained from the Office of Education Abroad, or from the Europe in the World program website. Students must consult with his or her advisor about course equivalents.
