Italian in Florence, Italy

Complete one year of language requirement in one summer!
The Department of Modern Languages has partnered with Cultural Experiences Abroad (CEA) to offer students a study abroad opportunity combining academics with hands-on cultural experiences in one of Italy's most beautiful cities.

The modern official Italian language is based on the dialect of Florence and is therefore the ideal place in which to study it.

Students will complete the equivalent of three OHIO quarters of Italian language (offered at elementary and intermediate level) while also immersing themselves in the culture of Italy with overnight excursions and daytrips to Rome, Ravenna and two other destinations.

Florence is the hometown of the author Dante and students will also study his most famous work Divine Comedy in a class taught by Dr Molly Morrison from OHIO's Department of Modern Languages.

Courses will be taught at the CEA GlobalCampus in Florence, located in the famed Piazza della Repubblica, and steps away from the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, and Uffizi Gallery.
