The Hogeschool voor Economische Studies (HES), known abroad as HES Amsterdam School of Business, was founded in 1867 and prides itself on a highly respected history of educating first-rate business professionals. It is located Amsterdam, a vibrant city famous for the beauty of its architecture and the relaxed and friendly atmosphere among its 750,000 inhabitants.
HES has more than 5,500 students, making it one of the largest schools of its kind in the Netherlands. Sports enthusiasts have opportunities to take part in golf, skiing and snowboarding, tennis, cycling, squash, horse-riding, yachting, wind surfing and many more offered by HES. Ohio University students can choose from a wide variety of business courses taught in English.

Eligibility and selection process This program is open to juniors and seniors in the College of Business with a 3.0 GPA. Applications are available online.

Living arrangements No on-campus housing is available. HES has a contract with DUWO Amsterdam, an organization that specializes in reasonably-priced student housing. DUWO offers accommodation for foreign students in one of two large apartment buildings in the west of the city.
Courses and credits Exchange students are expected to take 8-10 courses (approximately 30 ECTS credits, or 24 quarter credits), which is considered an appropriate and manageable workload. Courses in Accounting, Finance, Economics, HRM, Marketing Management, MIS and International Business are available. Students may also take beginning Dutch language. Specific course offerings and descriptions are available from the HES website.
