Consortium of Overseas Student Teaching (COST)
Ohio University is a member institution of COST, the Consortium of Overseas Student Teaching. The COST program offers student teachers an opportunity to live and work abroad for an extended period, providing professional and personal growth in ways that are increasingly important for living and teaching in the United States.
In English-speaking countries, student teachers are placed in local schools which afford excellent opportunities to become acquainted with the culture and educational system of the host country.
In non-English speaking countries, student teachers are placed in independent schools that are usually non-profit, non-denominational, private schools that are established for providing bilingual instruction.
