SPIRE Hamburg
The SPIRE program is an international nanoscience research partnership between Ohio University, the University of Hamburg, and the University of Buenos Aires. SPIRE - The Spin Triangle - is a part of a larger Partnership for International Research and Education (PIRE) initiative funded by the National Science Foundation. As part of the program, selected Ohio University physics and engineering undergraduate and graduate students are funded to conduct 10 weeks of research with their counterparts in Germany or Argentina. This is a five-year, 2.5 million dollar project aimed at exploring various aspects of nanospintronics and nanomagnetism.
More information about the SPIRE program can be found on the Department of Physics homepage.
Because of the unique nature of this program, interested students will want to consult with Julie Goettge in the Physics Department for more information about the application process.
