The program provides students with the opportunity to immerse themselves in a Spanish-speaking environment, explore and do research on Puerto Rican culture, and interact with noted scholars. Students will strengthen their language skills through immersion.

Eligibility and Selection Process
This program is open to students from all academic departments and levels. Previous knowledge of Spanish is not necessary so everyone from beginners to advanced speakers is encouraged to apply.

Students will stay in a hotel near campus.
Courses and Credits
Students in the program will enroll in either:
- ILML 336 (Undergraduate)
- SPAN 698 (Graduate)
- SPAN 447 (Arranged as Independent Study)
Cost*
Billed by Ohio University:
- Tuition: 4 credits of undergraduate OU tuition or 5 credits of graduate OU tuition (in addition to winter quarter tuition)
- Program Fee: $2999
- Administrative Fee: $150
Program fee includes housing, board (two meals five days a week), airfare, and field trips.
Out-of-Pocket Expenses:
- Meals (some lunches and dinners): $300
- Incidentals (includes textbooks and supplies): $200
