Design in Asia
Design in Asia is a study experience that combines exploration of contemporary and historical architecture, design, and art with collaborative studio projects. Ohio University students will work on multidisciplinary projects with students from Chubu University (Japan), the Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication, and Chinese University Hong Kong. Projects will emphasize conceptual ideation of multicultural design.
Eligibility
Senior or Junior standing recommended. Applicants must have completed studio-based art or design fundamentals and have good academic standing with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Interior Architecture and VISCOM students are strongly encouraged to apply.

Living arrangements
Housing varies depending on destination and includes on-campus dormitories as well as a traditional Japanese Inn.
Courses and credits
Students will be required to enroll for 6 hours of HCIA 3XX or 5XX. VISCOM courses will also be available. Independent studies can be arranged. You will also be required to attend several planning sessions during spring quarter.
