Types of Education Abroad opportunities
OU study abroad programs

OU study abroad programs give you the opportunity to travel with an OU faculty member and other OU students. There are many programs for students in all majors though classes are offered in specific disciplines.
  • All financial aid and scholarships apply.
  • You receive direct OU credit for the program.
  • Programs are typically a quarter or shorter.

OU exchange programs

OU exchange programs give you the chance to live abroad independently while choosing from a full curriculum of courses at overseas universities. (Some exceptions on course offerings may apply).

  • All financial aid and scholarships apply.
  • You receive transfer credit and must complete a Foreign Study Checklist before you go.
  • These programs last a semester (1.5 quarters) or an academic year.
 
The Ohio International Consortium (OIC)

The OIC offers additional study abroad programs through other public universities in Ohio. Visit www.uc.edu/global/oic.html.
  • All financial aid and scholarships apply.
  • You receive transfer credit and must complete a Foreign Study Checklist before you go.
  • Program length will vary depending on the university and term (short-term and long-term available).
 
 IEP @ OHIO

IEP at OHIO offers traditional semester and summer programs, internship placements, volunteer projects and faculty-led programs to over 30 destinations worldwide.  IEP is on campus in the Office of Education Abroad to advise on programs.  Top new destinations include Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Thailand and China.
