"Mexico was truly a life changing experience. Living and learning in a new world proved that I can tackle adversity in any situation; whether that is language or culture.”

"Study abroad is an inspiring and humbling experience but beyond that, it’s fun. Being immersed in another culture allows you to learn about that culture but also helps you learn about yourself."

“The idea of seeing another part of the world seemed like a near unattainable goal, especially for the typical ‘poor college student’; but after my abroad experience, all parts of the world seem to be well within my grasp!”

Symphonie Smith- Language and Culture in Mérida, Mexico, Internship Quito, Ecuador, Non-OU

"I am still trying to find the words to describe my experiences in Ghana. Awesome, brilliant, inspiring and magnificent come to mind!  However, they only begin to describe the dynamic experiences that I had in Ghana."

Tommy L. Watson- Ghana Doctor of Musical Arts; Associate Professor of Music (Voice) African Culture through the Arts Program, Ghana

"Going to London was one of the best things I did. It changed my life! I learned how people all over the world are alike. I made new friends and did a lot of cool things. Highlights of my trip:
1. Paris for the weekend
2. A group trip to Stonehenge
3. A Jay-Z concert for free in London
4. The world famous Tate Modern Museum.
I think everyone should study abroad. It teaches you independence and you can see the world!"

Sarah Williams- Art and Art History in Great Britain

"Going to South America gave me a chance to really practice my Spanish skills, learn about a country I knew little about, and increase my understanding of myself. I also learned more about the African diaspora, since I learned about and met some members of an Afro-Ecuadorian community… As a medical student I also learned a lot of great biology, and about the public health system in another country. I now know that health in these types of settings is what is most appealing to me.”

Merrian Brooks- Tropical Disease Biology Workshop and the Chagas Research in Ecuador

"Absolutely heart breaking and life-changing. CEDEINFA and OU-COM provided free medical care to over 1000 extremely poor and insured Salvadorians. This experience stimulated my medical education tremendously!"

Catalina Soto- The Center for the Complete Development of Children
and Their Families (CEDEINFA), Medical Mission in El Salvador.
