Eligibility for admission to the Ohio University Upward Bound program is determined by the following factors:
Annual family income AND/OR;
Potential first-generation college student.
Currently a freshman, sophomore, or junior in an Upward Bound partnership high school.
Have a 2.0 or higher cumulative GPA.
The drive and interest to pursue a post-secondary education following graduation from high school.
Recruitment sessions for potential participants take place during the months of September and October at Upward Bound partnership high schools. Each school has a scheduled visit where an Upward Bound staff member provides an informational session to interested students.
Program Admission Application:
Recruitment and admission for the 2014-2015 academic year is closed.
Students must submit the following with their application in order to be considered for admission to the Upward Bound program. Incomplete applications will NOT be reviewed.
High school transcript
Guidance counselor recommendation
Signed and completed application
Copy of federal income tax return statement or notarized official document that shows annual income (taxable income). DO NOT SEND W-2. The current federal income guidelines can be found here.
