Helen M. Robinson Center for Reading

reading1_002The Helen M. Robinson Center for Reading (the Tutoring Center) provides tutors for struggling readers, both children and adults, in Appalachian Ohio. Overseen by the Stevens Literacy Center and generously supported by the Patton College of Education, Ohio University, and external funders, the tutors work with any child reading below grade level or any adult reading below the 8th grade level. All tutors have completed required training in tutoring and passed state or federal background checks.

In the 2011-12 school year, tutors helped nearly 50 struggling readers improve their skills.
