| Curriculum
A minimum of 59 credit hours will be
required: 30 hours in Economics, 16 hours in Finance, 8 hours in
accounting, and 5 hours for Internship or Research Project.
The MFE program is structured so that all
academic requirements can be completed in 5 quarters, beginning
in the summer. To finish the program, participants will complete
a research project or take an internship.
Summer: Accounting I (Acct 610),
Macroeconomics and Business Fluctuations (MFE 601),
International Trade and Financial Economics (MFE 640).
Fall: Accounting II (Acct 611),
Quantitative Analysis for Financial Markets
(MFE 500), Seminar in Money and Capital Markets (Fin 650)
Winter: Financial Management I (Fin
620), Financial Management II (Fin 621), Statistics and
Econometrics: Theory and Application (MFE 639).
Spring: Managerial Economics (Econ
600), Seminar in Investment (Fin 623), Financial Derivatives (MFE
644)
Summer: Research Project (MFE 696) or Internship* (MFE
670)
*Internship would be the joint responsibility of the program and
students. If an internship is not secured by a certain date,
students will be required to write a research paper on a
