Summer Start Freshman Summer Experience is an innovative program designed for newly admitted Ohio University freshmen to help you get a head start on your Ohio University studies.

Open to the entire freshman Fall 2013 class, Early Start in Athens is a fully integrated program offering a residential, credit-bearing curriculum coupled with a full range of student services designed to address the specific needs of first-year students or, attend classes online. It's an ideal opportunity for you to gain the confidence you need to succeed at OHIO.

The Pre-Engineering Program (PEP) in the Fritz J. and Dolores H. Russ College of Engineering and Technology assists incoming students from disproportionately represented groups to transition from high school to a Russ College engineering or technology degree program. The program stresses the develop­ment of good study skills adequate for a successful college career.

Ohio University Upward Bound is a successful college access program that was established in 1967 and is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education. Upward Bound provides high school students who are first in their family to attend college with readiness skills and support services that cultivate resilience, confidence, and preparation for a healthy and successful transition to, and graduation from, a college of their choice.

The OHIO Summer Music Camp is designed for high school brass, keyboard, percussion, vocal and woodwind students who want to enhance their musicianship and interact with other student musicians from across the state and region. Develop your music skills through large ensemble participation, master classes, lessons, academic classes and concerts with the renowned faculty of the Ohio University School of Music.
