STEPS FOR GETTING STARTED FOR UNDERGRADUATE ONLINE DEGREE, PRINT-BASED, AND SUMMER STUDENTS

*Ohio University cannot process your application and/or evaluate your transcripts until ALL official transcripts are received.

Complete the FAFSA (if applying for financial aid).

Ohio University’s School Code is 003100. Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Print-based Courses and Special Projects

Financial aid generally covers the cost of tuition, textbooks, database fees, and technology fees for print-based courses and special projects.

If you indicate nonterm courses are part of the course enrollment plan, the financial award offer is adjusted to reflect the eligibility for nonterm courses. Please review the Print-based Financial Aid Policy.

What to Expect Next

Confirmation email

Within a few days of applying you will receive an email with the following information:

Confirmation that Ohio University has received your application
Personal Identification Number (PID): your PID will be used numerous times from now until you complete your program. Please keep this number in your records so you may refer back to it.

Admission decision email

After your application is finalized you will receive the following via email:

Acceptance Letter
OHIO ID and instructions on how to activate your CatMail email account (Ohio University’s email account)

Registration email and transfer evaluation document (Transfer evaluations are provided to degree-seeking students ONLY.)

You will receive your advising packet via email. This packet will include the following:

Name of your Academic Advisor (Academic advisors are provided for degree-seeking students ONLY.)
Degree Audit Report (or Course Map) that will reflect official transfer credit into your program and course requirements
Instructions on how to register for courses
