The Computer Services department at OU-Eastern Campus is responsible for the oversight, maintenance, and updating of the various aspects of computer and technology services for the Eastern Campus. This includes the public computer labs, computers for the faculty and staff, the campus network, and internet access.
In order to provide the Eastern Campus community with the best possible access to technology and internet resources, Eastern Campus has seven computer labs which are open to students, alumni, faculty, and the local community. (Some of the computer labs are designated for specific classes and functions, and may only be available to students enrolled in certain classes.) Every computer is connected to the network and has full Internet access via Eastern Campus’ high-speed internet connection. The lab locations, equipment, functions, and hours are:

- Mozilla FireFox (for web browsing)
- Macromedia Shockwave & Flash
- RealPlayer
- QuickTime
- Adobe Acrobat Reader
- Java
The computers in Lab20 also have SPSS (statistical software) and Hyperstudio installed.
In addition to the public computers available to the Eastern Campus community, Eastern Campus also has a wireless network covering both buildings on campus. The wireless network allows people to use their own laptop computer to access the internet, without the restriction of a network cable. People can check their e-mail, surf the web, and do research on their laptop computer without needing a disk to transfer information back and forth. (You will need your OU OAK ID and password to access the wireless network.) Temporary guest accounts to access the wireless network can be created -- see Peter Lim for more information.
