"Was the Civil War a Just War?" The Ohio University Eastern Cultural Life and Diversity Committee presented a free public lecture, funded by the Ohio University Kennedy Lecture Series, on Wednesday, February 27 at 7pm in the Shannon Hall Theater. Dr. Aaron Sheehan-Dean, the Eberly Professor of Civil War Studies at West Virginia University, was the featured speaker. Sheehan-Dean is the author of "Why Confederates Fought: Family and Nation in Civil War Virginia" and "The Concise Historical Atlas of the U. S. Civil War," and the editor of several books. He teaches courses on nineteenth century U. S. History, the Civil War and Reconstruction and Southern History.
