The East Central Ohio Educational Service Center recently completed its first year of the CCLP 21^st Century Grant. The five year grant was awarded to the ESC to help middle school students achieve success in the targeted areas of reading and math. Ohio University Eastern supported the ESC and the grant by providing student volunteers from their education courses to meet with and assist local middle school students in these areas. The OUE education majors received valuable hands-on teaching experience and the middle school students benefited from the valuable instruction of an interested, trained young adult. The students and the teachers reported great success with this aspect of the grant.
