Ohio University Eastern offers intercollegiate athletics in women's volleyball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, and co-ed golf. The athletic program is an important part of the university's philosophy to provide extracurricular opportunities for personal growth and development.
Our programs compete in the Ohio Regional Campus Conference, which is comprised of eleven regional campus schools from Akron (1), Miami (2), Ohio State (3), Wright State (1) and Ohio University (4). Non-conference competition traditionally involves local and regional schools such as Fairmont State, Franciscan, Slippery Rock, West Liberty, and Wheeling Jesuit.
Every one of our programs has fared well on and off the court. For example, our Lady Panthers women's basketball team has won a total of thirteen conference or state tournament championships since 1990, more than any other school in the ORCC. Our men's basketball team has also experienced success. The Panthers have won three conference banners since 2001. Not to be out done, our women's volleyball team recently captured the 2013 state tournament title.
Our teams play all of their home games in the beautiful Health and Physical Education Center, which is located on campus. The facility is also the home of the OVAC Basketball Championships and the Eastern District Sectional and District Basketball Tournaments.
