Public Relations

Information for Media

The Marketing and Public Relations Office assists local media by providing and assisting in the covering of campus news. Information is sent regularly to news media through press releases and the posting of news and information on the campus website (www.ohio.edu/eastern), FACEBOOK, and Twitter feeds. Marketing and public relations personnel also respond to media inquiries.

Please contact E. J. Schodzinski, Director of Marketing and Public Relations, at 740-699-2503 or schodzin@ohio.edu for more information.

Media Credentials

Reporters planning a campus visit should contact the Marketing and Public Relations office for assistance in arranging interviews with members of the campus community or obtaining information. Campus-issued media credentials may be required.

Reporting, Filming and Photography on Campus

To protect the privacy of our students, a growing number of whom are minors taking college courses during their high school years and to promote and further our main mission of education, the following rules apply to filming and photography on campus:

  • Minors may not be included in video or photography without the written consent of the parents on file with the university. This also pertains to campus-sponsored community events.
  • Campus officials reserve the right to ask the media to move their interviewing or filming to another area of the building(s) if it becomes disruptive or interferes with privacy issues.
  • Filming and photographing action shots of sports games is permitted.

Faculty Experts

Faculty members are generally available to assist the media with stories related to their areas of research or expertise. Please contact the marketing and public relations director for assistance in this matter.
