Dr. Zijian Diao has done cutting-edge research in applied mathematics.
He holds a US patent on certain quantum circuit and was the chief developer
for the prototype of IBM's MARS (later renamed MASTOR), the world's first
speech translation system for bidirectional free-form speech. He has won
multiple research and teaching grants from the National Science Foundation
and Ohio University. His research was published in preeminent research
journals such as Physical Review A and Journal of Machine Translation. He
is a contributor to several academic books, including an "Outstanding Academic
Titles" winner by the American Library Association's Choice magazine.
