One hundred students from high schools in Ohio's urban areas were welcomed to the Ohio University campus on 22nd and 23rd February, 2005. During the two day 2nd Urban Scholars visitation program, the students were exposed to academic programs and to life as a student on the Ohio University campus. The visit included a dinner with the university President and Provost and many senior staff; an opportunity to meet with first class of Urban scholars, current Ohio university students as well as faculty and staff members from the students' area of academic interest. The Urban Scholars Program is an initiative of President Roderick McDavis. It is a need based scholarship which targets disproportionately represented students who attend urban high schools.
