Appalachia Learning Community/Faculty Learning Community
This Faculty Learning Community (FLC) is comprised of persons knowledgeable about and/or interested in learning more about Appalachia. The learning group is a community that is investigating broad topics associated with teaching and learning in and about Appalachia. Participants are not only interested in learning more about Appalachia, but want to explore ways what is learned can be implemented. The FLC members want to assist others in the broader university community to appreciate needs and resources distinct to the Appalachian region. The group will seek a total of eight faculty members and also invite a graduate student to participate in the FLC.
DiversityWeb
DiversityWeb is a collaborative project between the Association of American Colleges and Universities and the University of Maryland, College Park. DiversityWeb is a compendium of promising practices, programs and resources in higher education that provides online resources on a number of issues regarding diversity in higher education. Its resources are centered around seven campus priorities - Institutional Vision, Leadership and Systemic Change; Student Involvement and Development; Campus and Community Connections; Curriculum Transformation; Faculty and Staff Involvement; Policy and Legal Issues; Research, Evaluation and Impact.
James Irvine Foundation
The James Irvine Foundation is a private, nonprofit grant making foundation dedicated to enhancing the social, economic, and physical quality of life throughout California. Irvine uses evaluation to support philanthropic activity that is better informed, sharper, and more productive. Evaluations of Irvine's program initiatives have provided the first opportunity for the Foundation to determine whether it is meeting its own strategic program goals.

Multicultural Review
Multicultural Review is a quarterly journal for teachers at all grade levels, college professors, librarians, administrators, and anyone else who is interested in learning about new developments and trends in the field of cultural diversity. The journal features reviews of new print and non-print resources on multicultural topics, and articles that explore current issues. In addition, there are columns and departments to keep you up to date on news, new curriculum materials, online resources, useful bibliographies on various subjects, and more.

Tolerance.org
Tolerance.org encourages people from all walks of life to "fight hate and promote tolerance." It is a web project of the Southern Poverty Law Center. Through this project, they hope to rouse individuals to the problem of hate and intolerance, and offer some tolerance ideas and actions that can be used at home, schools, businesses and communities. The site caters for adults, teens, children, parents/caregivers and teachers. Included are interactive maps of hate and human rights groups, tests for hidden bias and action guides for communities, workplaces, schools and homes. Also included is a network for youth activists who are challenging social boundaries in schools and communities, and various children's resources.
