Vision
Born of the Fritz J. and Dolores H. Russ College of Engineering and Technology’s vision for a learning community and the College of Osteopathic Medicine’s desire to advance research and improve public health, the Academic & Research Center (ARC) will unite students, faculty, staff, alumni, and collaborators for learning and discovery.
The facility’s design is not about bricks and mortar. It’s about an active community in which faculty, students, clinicians and scientists will discover. It will change the way faculty teach and students learn. It will expand interdisciplinary research at OHIO and lead to new technologies, diagnostics, therapeutics, and treatment paradigms.
Making a difference
The ARC will bring people together to enhance learning, advance research, and promote collaboration to take OHIO to a new level.
In this space, engineering students, osteopathic medical students and other undergraduate students will work along side engineering faculty, clinicians and scientists from the College of Osteopathic Medicine, and researchers from across the campus and around the world.
They will learn, explore new medicines, develop new treatments and delivery methods, and advance science, engineering, and technology.
The facility is about relationships and interactions among people – and among a variety of disciplines from electrical engineering to biomedicine, from mechanical engineering to physical therapy.
It’s about the difference they can make in the world.
