The Dean of Students' Citation is an award presented to an Ohio University student by the Dean of Students for exceptional leadership contributions. Students can be recognized for service in a leadership role, for particular accomplishments, for outstanding service to a program or a department, for work as a peer advisor, etc. Recipients can be nominated by any member of the faculty or staff; in addition, many Citations are initiated directly by the Dean.
The Citation itself is an attractive certificate on quality paper stock that is customized with the student's name, the reason for recognition, and a signature. A sample is show above.
If you are a member of the faculty or staff and you would like to nominate a student for a Dean of Students Citation, this are the steps in the process:
- You identify the students and the rationale for recognizing them;
- You communicate this information via email to Debby Sillery at the Dean of Students' office;
- We will produce the Citations and provide them to you;
- You decide if you want to present the Citations or you want the Dean of Students to do so;
- If you want the Dean of Students to present the Citations, contact Debby Sillery.
We will need about 5 days to turn around your request for Citations. They are available throughout the academic year. Questions? Contact Debby Sillery , 740-593-1800.
